1912 – 2008
Last night I lost someone who I looked up to more than anyone else, my Grandfather Marian Karol Przybylski.
He flew for the Polish Air Force and then later the Royal Air force and was responsible for numerous raids over Nazi Germany in World War Two. Subsequently he was shot down and spent years in a concentration camp.
He never did really say what he went through, unlike most men of his age he never spoke about the war and what happened. I was in Berlin a few years back and called him and he casually asked how it looked. When I replied it was nice, he said in his thick Polish accent “I bombed Berlin heavily during the war, I hope it still doesn’t look like that now!”
I wish I could achieve 10% of what he had done in his lifetime during mine.
To say you will be missed Marian, is a massive understatement right now.
