Kun-ya

Zoom

17 May 2009

The Burmese love their Kun-ya (Betel leaf), and these roadside stalls are seen scattered all over the place, selling small parcels of Kun-ya.
The parcel usually consists of Kun-ya, Betel nuts, lime, cutch and aniseed.
The damage it does to your teeth is horrendous and many Burmese have blackened mouths from years of chewing the leaf.
