What legal rights do you have as a photographer in the UK?
Being sick and tired of having security guards telling me “you can’t take photo’s here mate..“, I decided to research what rights were available to me and produce a small card in which others could hopefully find useful.
The card is intended to be printed out, and laminated, and describes various situations and the legal support you have when taking photo’s in the UK. I handed these out at the 1st European Photobloggers meetup in 2005 and was found to be of great use. It’s free, all I ask is that you let me know if you link to it.
This card’s aim is to help photographers understand what rights they do have in the UK, but is only meant to be an explanation of what you can and can’t do. If you require advice, contact a good lawyer!
